Elite from the circles of medical care of all the major minorities in China assemble here at Beijing Tibetan and Ethnic Medicine Hospital. There are 23 characteristic departments supported by Tibetan physicians from the snowy altiplano,  Mongolian physician from the great grassland of Inner Mongolia, Yi physician from Yunnan province, Tujia physician from west of Hunan Province, Zhuang physician from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region，Buyi physician from Guizhou，and traditional Chinese physicians. The Hopsital has become a window in Beijing displaying the minorities’ medicines. Leaders of the Communist Party and the State have visited the Hospital and guided our work for many times, and expressed good wishes concerning the development of our hospital. Dr. Hiroshi Nakajima, former General-Director of the World Health Organization, Kasymzhomart kemelevich tokayev, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and President of the No.1 Ethnic Party of Canada has visited our Tibetan Pharmaceutical Factory at Tibet personally or consulted our doctors for their diseases, and highly complimented our Hospital. Recently, the Hospital has invited experts and professors in Tibetan medicine such as Zhongdeng Langjie, Zhaxi Duojie, Guanjia Nandeng, Mongolian physician Xing Heling, and Zhuang physician Huang Jingwei, etc. to our Hospital. In the recent decade, the Hospital has treated nearly one million cases of difficult diseases, with an effective ratio of 95%, In 2006, the Department of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular of the Hospital passed the evaluation for National Significant Department, the Department of Diabetes was listed as one of the Important Departments to be strengthened, and the Hospital itself was listed as one of the Important Ethnic Hospitals in the State’s 11th Five Year Plan.

        Achievements have also been attained in the construction of disciplinary departments. Currently, the Hospital includes unique departments of Tibetan medicine on cardio vascular and cerebro-vascular diseases, gastro-intestinal diseases, liver and galbladder diseases, kidney disease, rheumatic-rheumatoid diseases, gynecology, traditional therapeutic methods; Mongolian medicine on hemopathy, Zhuang medicine on aponeurotic channel, Tujia medicine on infertility, Huangjia medical circle on oncology; asthma, dermatosis , galactophore, urology, endocrinology,  diabetes, encehalopathy,  eye disease etc.; and Center of Tibetan Medicinal Bathing, International Medical Center, America-China Center of Gynecology-Obstetrics, Center of Oncology, Center of Physical Examination. Advanced laboratory and monitoring apparatuses including digital X-ray photography system, multilayer helix CT, arm-angiographic apparatus, color ultrasonic apparatus, fully-automatic biochemical analytical apparatus are equipped. It is a large-scale comprehensive ethnic hospital with comprehensive disciplinary departments, prefect functions, advanced instruments and good services.
        Our Hospital is a designated hospital of Basic Medicare in Beijing, and the clinical teaching hospital of Central University for Nationalities, and the important Hospital for research, teaching and clinical works of ethnic medicine. The designed construction area of the Hospital is 50,000 sqm and the current constructed area is 12,000 sqm, consisting of a Clinical Building, a Ward Building, a Research Building， a Medicinal-Preparation Building, and other accessory constructions are also included. The total intended investment is RMB 0.4 Billion.

        The new century has just started. We hope that the traditional medicine can exhibit its brilliance with the inheritance and development by people of the present era. We also hope that the traditional medicine can irrigate vaster land in the new century.
