5. A fruit grew in Norway

   　　　One day in the afternoon, a patient walked into my office, weeping aloud. Out side in the corridor, her son, 12 years old, sat quietly. 
　　　I gave her a sheet of tissue gently. When she stopped crying, she told me the story. She was a native of Nanjing, Jiangsu province. She came from Norway. Her father was a famous university's President. She grew in a superior family surroundings. When she studied in university, she fell in love with a boy, her classmate. The boy was very diligent, after getting master degree, he studied for doctorate then. After they got married the couple lived separately. The man worked in another place. She visited her husband in his city on their honeymoon. One month later, she was pregnancy and gave birth to a son.
　　　Unfortunately, the man was always suspicious that the child was not his son, so he was uncomfortable all the time. Later, they both went abroad to Norway. Because he disliked the child, he was bad-tempered everyday at home. When he came home from work, he loudly scolded his wife and the child everyday, so that, when his son saw him, just like the mouse saw the cat. Every time, when he lost his temper, the son quickly hided into the room, frightened as a little rabbit.
　　　The man got the doctorate in China and went abroad to study for PHD. His salary was good and social status high, then his was changed. The wife could not find job because of her language problem, so she had to do the housework at home, becoming in a lower position gradually, the life got more and more difficult for her. After the abortion some years ago, she was in a bad mood and didn’t get pregnancy any more. Now she was 40 years old, had oligomenorrhea for two years and salpingitis as well. She thought, if we could have one more baby, my husband would have no complaints this time.
　　   I asked: "So high his cultural level, why is this so?" She said: "He has two PHDs. He grew up in a small town, his parents divorced when he was small. He was unsociable and eccentric, maybe relating to his family surroundings.”
　　　So, is there any relation of diploma with morality? In my mind I always asked about this.
　　　She brought herbal medicines with her and went home. A few months later, she called me and said she was already pregnant. Some time later she gave birth to a son too. This was a good news for me as usual, but I was not as joyful as before as I heard good news, instead, a very sour bitter coming into my mind. I do not know how is her family life now since I didn’t get any news of her thereafter.
