As the reputation of Dr. Mo Shu-zhen in the field of treating infertility spreading throughout the country, her technology also began to attract the attention of the overseas. On March 11, 2000, invited by the Philippines merchant prince Mr. Huang and his wife, Dr. Mo Shu-zhen departed from Beijing to Xiamen, from there she flied to Manila, for the purpose of starting the global medical treatment. But it was unknown that what would happen in this first station.
In the evening, when the plane flied overhead Manila, looking down through the window, the ground was with bright lights, like starts twinkling. What a brilliant night scene it was.
Getting off the plane, the heat wave in Manila airport was just rolling coming, men and women in summer cloths with dark skin were everywhere.
Manila, located in Manila bay, is a beautiful city, and an important airport in southeast Asia. Dr. Mo Shu-zhen dressed in thick pullover, feeling very hot and stuffy, looking very discordant with the people around. Mr. Huang's driver was already waiting at the exit. Then, driving for more than 2 hours, they came to the front of a tall iron gate. The car rang a few times, the door opened, and the car came into the courtyard, several black girls came to help carrying baggage.
On the fourth floor of the house of Mr. Huang, in the big hall it was as hot as in a steamer, on opening the air conditioner, it was gradually cooling down. Upstairs, Mr. Huang's secretary, a Hunan Luxi fellow-villager named Hu came out to meet Dr. Mo Shu-zhen. Then she got into the room they prepared for her, opened the air conditioner, the motor of which began to made a sound like a roaring machine, let Dr. Mo feel terror-stricken. She could not adapt her to it, thus for the whole night she didn’t sleep well.
    One night without words.
On March 12, a Sunday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Huang, the secretary, and Mo Shu-zhen, four of them drove to the beach. Under the blue sky, there were tall coconut trees, green grass, blue swimming pool, rows of white park benches, and a lot of foreigners taking a leisurely life for holiday.
Manila is a beautiful city with an evergreen flowers. The jasmine flower is the national flower of the Philippines, distributed in Manila everywhere. Mo Shu-zhen was taking photos here. An American youth in sling chair turned face to the Mo Shu-zhen friendly and blinked eyes with a gentle smile, Mo Shu-zhen also smiled.
In Manila, there were not many tall buildings, looking forward, a lot of low buildings. Because of the enough sun light, water, and fertile land, everywhere was green, full of exuberant vitality. A kind of Yilang Yilang flowers, with white bud, purple petals, blossomed in the thick green leaves in the streets and lanes, parks, and gardens.

The vehicles in streets were decorated with colorful advertisements, without glass windows, just like pavilion. On the right, there was a door. From its back door, people could climb up and down. The left and right row seats were made for holding about ten people.
It could stop on calls and its charge was cheap. This kind of fancy vehicles, according to Mo Shu-zhen, reflected the enthusiasm, optimistic, cheerful temperament and graffiti-art imagination of the Philippinese. Exoticness, seeing is believing.
At midday, outside it was very very hot. In the evening, the sea breeze blew gently in beach, it was cool and pleasant. In all sorts of beautiful scenery background, there left Mo Shu-zhen’s different silhouettes.
The Philippines is a thousand island country, the whole nation is constituted by more than three thousand islands. Because it is close to the equator, all year round like summer in weather, lovely scenes, the scenery is particularly attractive.
Mo Shu-zhen came to Manila, the local medias "World Journal" and "United Daily" reported the news that the director of infertility department of Beijing National Hospital visited the Philippines. Many patients from the Philippines made phone calls to ask about the treatment of infertility and habitual abortion. From this the patients had a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese medicine.
The floor in which Mo Shu-zhen lived was as big as about five hundred square meters. Three maids were responsible for her daily life. The Philippines were known to the world for diligence. They were good at English, working in the United States, Singapore, Thailand, the Middle East, and Hong Kong and Taiwan regions, as house helpers. Each year there was about four millions Philippines labors went abroad to work and they were earning US$ten billion for the country Philippines.
Although there was language difficulty, Dr. Mo Shu-zhen made a good relation with three maids. They were always smiling when meet each other. In the sitting room, the floor was decorated with marbles. The rooms were with wooden floors. The maids cleaned the floors very carefully everyday. They washed and ironed clothes very professionally and returned back to Dr. Mo.

One day in the morning, Dr. Mo put two pairs of slippers on balcony for drying in the sun. In the afternoon it was suddenly storming. Dr. Mo quickly ran to balcony, but she didn’t see the slippers. A maid called her loudly. Dr. Mo came back to the room, she saw the slippers putting tidily in front of the bed. Dr. Mo found it strange, because in the morning the maid did not see her putting slippers over there.
The hierarchy between Master and Servant was very strict. Every day after the master eating a meal, the rest of the meal would be moved to the kitchen, and then the servant began to eat their meal. Master and servant were eating not on the same table. This was like in the ancient Chinese tradition.
Chinese people in the Philippines mostly belong to the rich class and capitalists, having their own factories and shops. Patients coming to see a doctor were also driving their own cars.
The infertility patients here had the similar pathological condition as Chinese patients at home, the only difference was that their ages were elder (most of them were more than 38 years old because they married late), so it was difficult to treat.
There were many patients who had operations of embryo transplantation and test-tube baby but not successful in the United States and Singapore, in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and so on. Therefore, they had no confidence of themselves. They thought that the big hospitals of the United States and Singapore didn’t cure them, the doctor came from Chinese Mainland might not be able to treat them either, so they were doubtful about the treatment.
Dr. Mo told them, in Beijing, she cured many patients coming from more than twenty countries and regions, including the United States, Japan, France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Singapore, Canada, etc., and almost all of them were treated first by advanced medical techniques of western medicine and the result was all of a failure. At last, Dr. Mo treated them well. Many foreign doctors were surprised by Dr. Mo’s intelligence and technology. In 1999, a 45-year-old U.S. patient got a twin of daughters after treatment from Dr. Mo. In Mo’s clinic, very often there were doctorate patients from the United States, Japan, and so on coming China especially for treatment.
The patients said to Dr. Mo Shu-zhen that, one seeing was better than one hundred hearing. In the Philippines, the Chinese people circle was very small, if one could be cured, she would spread it far and wide to ten, and ten would make it well known in about one hundred. A great stir in the Chinese world would call many many patients to come, then people would be in a long line for your treatment.
Mo Shu-zhen said, this was just a time problem, time could document everything. When the first time came here, Mo Shu-zhen was confident of her own technology of infertility treatment.
On March 18, Dr. Mo Shu-zhen’s herbal medicines had arrived Manila, more than ten infertility couples began to have treatment.
In the afternoon of March 18, it was very cool before the thunderstorm. Because it was not busy, she went out for a walk in the streets of Manila for sightseeing.
